New Album: Quincy Jones & many many others

November 19, 2010

Q: Soul Bossa Nostra is a 2010 studio album by Quincy Jones, recorded with various artists. The title of the album refers to Jones’ 1962 instrumental track Soul Bossa Nova as this album is recorded as a tribute to Quincy. A great album to own if you need some soul/funk on your stereos (everyone needs some soul & funk in their music especially with the current music trends). Since the album is with current contemporary artists, current music trend lover fret not…there’s a number of tracks that will fit your listening pleasure. This new album is Quincy’s first studio album since Q’s Jook Joint in year 1995.

The album, was recorded as a tribute to Quincy features Talib Kweli, Ludacris, Jennifer Hudson, Mary J. Blige, BeBe Winans, Amy Winehouse and many others. Personally, I was excited to hear Jennifer Hudson’s rendition of You Put A Move On My Heart, a song sung by Tamia in quincy’s previous album, Q’s Jook Joint. Take a listen below, and let me know whois rendition do you prefer…to me, Tamia’s version- hands down!

Each artist picked a song that resonated with them for different reasons. I am honored that everyone wanted to be a part of this celebration of these songs. They all made them their own and knocked them out of the park.
