Corinne Bailey Rae releases long-awaited sophomore album

January 29, 2010

The Sea is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae. It is the follow-up to her eponymous debut album and was recorded following her hiatus from the music scene, which she took in the wake of her husband Jason Rae’s death. The first single off from the album is I’ll Do It All Again. The song was written by Rae immediately after an arguement with her late husband Jason Rae in January 2008. Rae said with an interview with The Observer,

Almost as he was leaving the room, I just sat down and wrote it. It’s just about how I felt about him at that time. Even right in the middle of the worst times, I remember thinking that I would choose this exact life again, that I would do it all again. It was me saying, I’m not wishing myself out of this situation. I’m 100 percent committed to this person. I don’t have any regrets about this relationship even though there are all these difficult times.

Love the single and love love the album. Download the first single, I’ll Do It All Again and Closer here. Rae recently performed one of her new songs, Closer on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
