Beyoncè & Lady Gaga together on ‘Phones’
Video Phone is released as Beyoncè’s eighth single from her album I Am…Sasha Fierce. The official single CD will be released sometime this week. The CD single will include a remix version featuring Lady Gaga. A spokesperson for director Hype Williams confirmed to MTV News that that both Beyoncé and Gaga appear in the Video Phone clip, which Williams shot last weekend in Brooklyn’s Greenpoint neighborhood.
Williams’ spokesperson would not confirm any additional information about the Video Phone shoot, but, according to Life and Style magazine, security on set was extremely tight, and the video is shaping up to be a fashion bonanza, with Beyoncé wearing ‘a feathered dress’ and Gaga sporting ‘something wild … the fashion is sick and insane.’
This collaboration will be heard again in Lady Gaga’s upcoming single Telephone, from her EP album, The Fame Monster. The track is produced by Rodney Jerkins and will be released with other 7 new tracks in The Fame Monster.
The songs on the EP were initially intended to be part of a re-release of Gaga’s debut album The Fame. However, Gaga announced that the new songs would be available as a stand alone EP, as she thought re-releases were unfair and that, as the EP represents a separate conceptual and musical body of work, it does not need the songs of The Fame to support it.
