Heligoland is the fifth regular studio album from the collaborative British music production duo Massive Attack, entitled after the German archipelago of the same name. The record features always-chosen Horace Andy plus the following invited vocalists: Tunde Adebimpe of TV On The Radio, Damon Albarn of Gorillaz, Hope Sandoval of Hope Sandoval and the Warm Inventions, Guy Garvey of Elbow and Martina Topley-Bird. The first single off the album is Splitting The Atom.
It was worth waiting for this album. Couldn’t agree more on The Guardian’s review of the album:
After shoals of film music by 3D (Robert del Naja), Massive finally resurface, seven years after the lowly 100th Window, with a shadowy beast bespeckled by starry guest vocalists. After Tunde Adebimpe’s quirky opener, is this a grumbly throwback to downbeat trip-hop featuring Daddy G and smoky old friends Horace Andy and Martina Topley-Bird? Partly, but then comes Hope Sandoval’s exquisite fragility on “Paradise Circus”, Guy Garvey’s lugubrious humour on the clattery “Flat of the Blade”, and Damon Albarn’s warm, surging loneliness on “Saturday Come Show”. Another mutation that can, out of the blackness, wriggle spectactularly.

Recently on the Letterman’s Late Night Show, Robin Thicke and Nicki Minaj performed Thicke’s second single, Shakin’ It For Daddy. The new single is off Thicke’s album, Sex Therapy: The Session. Personally, Thicke looks a little weird doing whatever moves he’s doing – just don’t seem natural. I prefer Thicke when he is more relaxed and singing his sex-focused lullabies. Download Shakin’ It For Daddy here.
Carrie Underwood has just released the video for her latest single Temporary Home, which is the second single from her platinum-certified third album Play On. What a touching-emotional music video. Donwload Temporary Home here.
Former Hole’s basist, Melissa Auf der Maur have just released a new video for her brand new single Out of Our Minds. She will be releasing her sophomore album very soon.
The Sea is the second studio album by English singer-songwriter Corinne Bailey Rae. It is the follow-up to her eponymous debut album and was recorded following her hiatus from the music scene, which she took in the wake of her husband Jason Rae’s death. The first single off from the album is I’ll Do It All Again. The song was written by Rae immediately after an arguement with her late husband Jason Rae in January 2008. Rae said with an interview with The Observer,
Almost as he was leaving the room, I just sat down and wrote it. It’s just about how I felt about him at that time. Even right in the middle of the worst times, I remember thinking that I would choose this exact life again, that I would do it all again. It was me saying, I’m not wishing myself out of this situation. I’m 100 percent committed to this person. I don’t have any regrets about this relationship even though there are all these difficult times.
Love the single and love love the album. Download the first single, I’ll Do It All Again here. Rae recently performed one of her new songs, Closer on the Ellen DeGeneres Show.
GOLDFRAPP is BACK! This time around Goldfrapp returns in what they do best, upbeats and not like the sounds of Seventh Tree album. The mid-tempo new single Rocket from their upcoming new album Head First is AWESOME! The tune itself is full of tubular ’80s radness. The new album will be released on 22nd March…can’t wait. For now get a little dosage of Goldfrapp by donwloading their latest single Rocket here.
Slim suits in priestly black, shirts in white, monk sandals re-done in patent leather that can be worn with a gold crown-of-thorns necklace (checkout the other collection that was inspired by the church), as well as spandex tights and skirt-shorts that are perfect for concealing a cincture are all in the Givenchy collection. Likes it but don’t really I don’t exactly go gaga over it but LOVES the sandals.
Stage-worthy leather jeans, tarred combat boots, a pitch-perfect black wool-and-leather baseball jacket, and the kind of hooded rain slicker/parka and slim-but-boxy three-button suits – Tim Hamilton creates a rock inspired garments with sophistication. Such fitting leather pants are great but such glittering sequined tight pants are legendary.
Drama Drama and Inspiring…Galliano takes the collection from London to the otherside of the globe, Japan. The new collection by John Galliano is a mix of London detectives, Russian armies, Thailand’s market silk boxers and bashful Japanese male geishas (if there’s such a thing – LOL). There’s always something for everyone in this collection.
Want shorts to go with your pants? Wondering how to pull that off? Observe hows it’s done in the very unpredicatable Comme des Garçons latest Fall 2010 men collection. The collection includes fastened vests, which we guess makes them four-piece suits, Sasquatch-grade, knee-length fur coats and vests and the distinctive fur-lined snorkel hats.
Always expect the unusuals from Walter Van Beirendonck collection. Martians meets Teletubbies clashing with cans of paint – is how I see this collection. Models wearing heels and leggings or brightly colored body suits, best complemented by a variety of quirky pieces is just the right collection for those who craves for a colour splash in their wardrobe. Bolero knits, jumpsuits and knits best emblazoned with a “W” are among the pieces. Not my style, but I see this pieces can be attracting many men out there.
The collection of the black and the whites. Blaak Homme designers Sachiko Okada and Aaron Sharif turns to the church for inspiration. Minimalist concept across the collection with oversized rosary and crown of thorns as accessories seemed controversial yet captivating men with this simple collection.
Amazing collection! Love the layering of individual pieces. Julius did not play much on prints (as his previous collections) but played on texture and layering his pieces creatively. The collection is ruled by the tones of black, grey and brown. Treated leather and bold skin-baring silhouettes can be seen through out the entire collection. Some might say old curtain cloths are used…if it’s so..let’s make it fashionable like these ones.
